About the show

What happens when you send six celebrities back to school with “mini-me” versions of themselves – six 10-year-olds who look, talk, and act just like their famous team-mates? The answer is Top of the Class – a family entertainment show where the competition will put the celebrities under more pressure than ever before!

For 10 weeks the stars and their “mini-me’s” go to a Harry Potter-style school – complete with a scary headmistress – and undertake lessons from today and from the 1970s, when most of the celebrities were at school.

It’s a clash of old-style teaching versus new. How will our celebrities cope with modern computer studies, Powerpoint presentations, and hip hop classes? Can the kids survive in the 1970s maths class without a calculator; or learning woodwork and folk dancing?  And apart from the lessons there’s the fun of school activities – including an overnight camp, a sports day, and even a school dance.

Each week the celebrities have to undertake a special “school project” – like learning the entire alphabet in Morse Code, or being able to identify the pictures 30 different dinosaurs. Coached by their mini-me they must learn it and learn it well – because at the end of each show one of the celebrities will be tested on the project to win prizes for their mini-me, and the mini-me’s family and school. Triumph and they’ll be a hero for winning the prizes their mini-me has always dreamed of! Fail and the prizes will be lost!

And in the series finale one of the mini-me’s will be crowned the “Grand Champion” and will receive grand prizes worthy of their championship title.
