About the show    

Take the comic duo of former sporting stars and all round blokes Matthew Ridge and Marc Ellis. Give them each a single person in search of love, and set them the challenge of finding the perfect match in less than a week. The result is The Mating Game – the show which turns romance into a competitive sport!  

Marc and Matthew take a video of the singleton (the ‘target’) into the streets to each find one person who could be their perfect match. The next mission for the hosts is to coach the potential matches in how to win their target’s heart.  

Each of the hopefuls goes on a first dinner date with their target – while the hosts watch from a nearby surveillance van. The matches are equipped with hi-tech bugs, hidden cameras and secret microphones – and the hosts can feed the lovestruck hopefuls instant advice – and, where necessary, good chat-up lines!  

By the time the second date comes around the hosts will be seriously competing to see which of their hopefuls will win the target’s heart – and who will be sent sadly away.
