About the show
Super Sellers is a high-paced race against the clock to turn impossible-to-sell products into cash. Each episode tests the mettle of two of New Zealand’s most ingenious sales people who are each provided with a mobile phone, a truck with a driver. Over three rounds and two days they’ll have to use all of their selling skills to offload the unusual goods that we’ll be putting in the back of the trucks, and to turn the maximum profit.
Round One is "Sell The Unsellable", in which the contestants are given a product that you’d think would be impossible to sell… but not if you’re a Super Seller. For example, this series features the contestants trying to sell Soap on a Rope, Body Building Videos and Stockings.
Round Two is "Flog The Unfloggable", in which contestants are asked to bid for a mystery product. The contestants don’t know what they’ll be bidding for so they could end up with a gem… or it could be a dud. The contestant that makes the highest bid adds the product to their truck and gets to sell it.
And finally in Round Three – "Service With a Smile" – contestants will be asked to use their contacts to secure the highest possible price for a mystery service in just 15 minutes… such as an Elvis Presley impersonator, or a Barbershop Quartet. Can they find a buyer? Whoever secures the highest price gets to sell the service and keep the cash.
At the end of the three rounds, the contestants return to base where the cash they’ve earned is counted. The contestant with the most cash gets to keep it and moves on to the Semi Final… and the chance for a place in the grand final!
The losers’ earnings and fines incurred during the episode goes into a prize pool… that the contestants in the grand final will be playing for.
In the final episode, the Grand Final, the two Super Sellers of the season compete against each other. The winner walks away with all the money in the prize pool together with the title of “Super Seller of the Year”. The loser walks away with nothing.
