About the show
Welcome to the irreverent current affairs comedy quiz show Out of the Question – a fast and furious battle of the wits starring Paul Holmes, Mike Hosking and Mikey Havoc.
Each week ‘party leaders’ Holmes and Hosking and their respective teams will battle it out in tests of both their knowledge of the week’s local and world events – and their wit. Not only will they need to remember what the Prime Minister/President/celebrity actually said at a particular moment – but they also can earn points for the wittiest speculation about what they should have said instead.
This is current affairs with a difference – not poker-faced, but irrepressibly tongue-in-cheek. Each week the party leaders will be joined by their regular ‘political strategist’ as their offsider. In Mike Hosking’s case this is maverick writer, broadcaster, former MP, and current Mayor of Wanganui, Michael Laws. Paul Holmes will be joined by bFM host Noelle McCarthy. The teams will be completed each week by guests from the worlds of media, business or entertainment.
No subject is off-limits, and no stone will lie unturned as Holmes and Hosking compete to be king of the current affairs tree and ‘chief whip’ Mikey Havoc plays quizmaster – and tries to keep the teams under control.
