About the show

Over a six-month period, our crew filmed behind-the-scenes with the Weber Brothers Circus –  as they put together their new show Time Traveller.Beneath the glitz and glamour of polished circus performances – lies a very different world. A world of constant rehearsals, unrelenting travel, infighting and romance.  

The Weber Brothers – Jeff and Harry – come from six generations of European Circus performers. Jeff manages the New Zealand side of the business, while Harry commutes regularly from Australia to make sure the show is up to standard...  

It takes a team of more than 40 dedicated professionals to keep the circus on the road in New Zealand. Even the stars of the show must muck in to build-up and pull down the big top. Not an easy feat – especially when it takes over 6 hours just to put the tent up!  

The circus hires performers from all round the world – Russia, South Africa, Columbia and Australia, not to mention the aspiring Kiwi talents …who add a local flavour to the show.
